National Science and Engineering Week (14th – 23rd March) is just around the corner, and at Marden Bridge we celebrated this by offering parents the chance to participate with their kids in the first ever MBMS LateNight Science School on Wednesday 19th March.

Our first session of MBMS LateNight Science School was all about fire; how to use it, control it and even enjoy it safely, plus - we looked at how useful it can be and what we can do with it...

Starting off with a unique way of cleaning our hands (using fire!!) we then looked at the different colours that certain metals produce when they’re burnt, before finishing with making our own sparklers.

The Lab was packed out with pupils, brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents and they all gave us some great feedback on the session:

We will run a LateNight Science School event every half term giving you the opportunity to learn alongside your family. If you have any questions (or suggestions) please get in touch with Mr Instone in the Science Department.

If you are interested in coming along to any of the sessions please fill out the slip that you should receive beforehand – we have 30 places available and these will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis; so return those reply slips to Mr Instone early to avoid disappointment.

See you next time!!
